The ongoing situation with COVID-19 is something that Machado Consulting is monitoring closely. The safety of our clients and our employees is something we take very seriously. As always, we are committed to providing the highest level of support and customer service possible. Any situation that could potentially jeopardize our commitment to safety and service is important to address.
That is why we are here to let all our clients know that they will not notice any degradation of service from us. We are still monitoring and protecting your IT infrastructure, and we are still standing ready to help you with any and all IT issues. Neither our capabilities nor our responsiveness will decline during this time.
In short, you will notice no change from us.
There may be some changes taking place at your company, however, and we would like to take a moment to explain how we can help.
One decision that more and more companies are making is to have employees work from home. This can be a smart move to prevent the spread of germs, but the decision can be difficult to make for obvious reasons, not the least of which is the problem of making remote work possible.
Machado Consulting is prepared to help you to implement a company-wide protocol of working from home. Here’s what we can do to help you while you work from home:
Remote Tools
On every computer that we currently manage, there is a tool installed called ScreenConnect that allows us to use the device remotely in real-time. Typically, we use this tool when you submit a ticket to our helpdesk. It lets us assist you quickly and efficiently. But did you know that you can access this tool as well?
We will enable this tool on any device we manage, and we’ll do it for free. Once it’s up and running, you can use your at-work device remotely from your at-home device. That way, all of your files and apps that at accessible at the office are accessible from your home. You just need to remember to leave the at-work device running before you leave. This option is far cheaper and less complicated than setting up a VPN (but of course if you already have one, it can be used effectively for at-home work).
Portable Devices
A lack of portable devices for employees to take home is one obstacle to moving operations online. Devices like laptops are critical when face-to-face collaboration becomes impossible. Built-in webcams and microphones make video calls a simple and effective communication tool, and full-size keyboards and screens (unlike tablets) make you feel like you never left the office. Our relationship with the tech vendors you trust is just as strong as ever, and we can help you get the hardware you and your employees need.
Preventing Slow Service
We are taking steps to augment our infrastructure to be able to handle the additional network demands from our clients working from home. We are taking this measure in order to fulfill our commitment to stable and uninterrupted service for our clients.
Phone Systems
We know how important communication is for your business. Users of Digium phone systems have the ability to bring home their physical phones, plug them into a home router, and continue making calls like normal. As your service provider, we will be there every step of the way to help with this transition.
In summary, Machado Consulting clients will notice no degradation of service now or ever, and we are committed to getting you and your employees the tools they need to successfully migrate from the office to home.
